Group Ride Alert Privacy Policy
Group Ride Alert is a beta communication aid for group rides. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
Information We Collect
Group Ride Alert may collect or process the following information when you use the app:
- Your rider name or leader name.
- Ride name, ride code, ride location details entered by a leader, and ride status.
- Alert messages, ride log entries, timestamps, rider status, audio-ready status, and GPS-ready status.
- Location only when a rider uses Need Assistance or explicitly tests location. Group Ride Alert does not continuously track riders.
- Microphone audio only when a leader uses voice features such as recorded messages or push-to-talk.
- Beta request information such as name, email, group name, and message when submitted through the website.
- Basic technical information such as browser, app connection state, server logs, and IP address for security and troubleshooting.
How We Use Information
- To let riders join a ride and receive ride alerts.
- To show leaders and admins who is connected to a ride.
- To deliver alert sounds, spoken alerts, leader messages, weather notices, and Need Assistance map links.
- To manage beta leader codes and respond to beta requests.
- To troubleshoot, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
Location Privacy
Location is not tracked continuously. Location is requested and shared only when a rider presses Need Assistance or uses a location test feature. If location is available, the app may store latitude, longitude, accuracy, timestamp, and a map link with the ride log.
Audio and Microphone
The app plays spoken alerts and alert tones. Microphone access is used only when a leader chooses a voice feature. Voice messages may be sent to riders in the same ride. The app does not use the microphone for hidden or continuous recording.
Sharing
Ride information is shared with riders and leaders connected to the same ride code. Admin users may view rides, riders, logs, beta requests, and system status. We do not sell personal information.
Data Retention
Ride, rider, alert, and beta request records may be stored to support ride history, troubleshooting, admin review, and beta testing. Records may be deleted or cleaned up as the service is maintained.
Security
Group Ride Alert uses access controls for admin and leader features. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, and users should avoid entering sensitive personal information into ride names, rider names, or messages.
Children
Group Ride Alert is intended for use by ride groups, leaders, and riders. It is not directed to children under 13.
Beta Safety Notice
Group Ride Alert is a beta communication aid, not a safety guarantee. Alerts may be delayed, unavailable, inaccurate, or affected by device settings, weak signal, internet or power outages, GPS issues, browser limits, or server issues. Riders and leaders remain responsible for safe riding, direct communication, obeying laws and trail rules, and using 911 or official emergency services for emergencies.
